Baby shower- cowgirl theme

I threw my sister a baby shower over the weekend. It was a great time! I tried to make it festive and with a theme but also affordable because I just didn't have a lot of extra funds to put into decorations. I'll share my pics and how I saved money!

I bought this pack of photo props for around $7. An affordable way to add some fun!
I had some wire baskets I use in the play area, which easily turned into a basket for rolls and chips simply by placing a $1 pink bandana inside :) I also used pie tins for plates, that was a big hit! And I had some little buckets I use for craft supplies which easily became utensil holders :)

The cake was ordered from the local supermarket and my friend found the cake topper at a western apparel store! So cute! And we used it as a centerpiece at the dining table with more bandanas

Simple banner around the food table and the tin pans for all the food

My cupcake frosting skills are terrible. But, it worked because "cow pies" go with the theme ;)

Mason jars are so cheap! I picked up a dozen for $7.99, and I had the buckets with chalkboard on them already so they became the watering holes! Found that adorable drink dispenser on Amazon!

Decorate a block for the baby & sign the hat! Fun ways to personalize and remember who came to celebrate :)

So what do you think? What would you add?

Cauliflower Fried Rice

I tried this tonight and YUM!  So good!  I added shrimp and also used Flavor God Garlic Lover's seasoning, their seasonings are awesome!!  I did not have just peas and carrots, but I had a bag of mixed veggies so my version also had corn and green beans in it which still tasted fantastic.

I found this great recipe at http://therecipecritic.com/2015/01/cauliflower-fried-rice/

Ingredients
  • 1 head of cauliflower, (about 2½ cups chopped in a food processor)
  • 2 Tbs sesame oil
  • 1 small white onion, chopped
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots, thawed
  • 2-3 Tablespoons soy sauce (more or less to taste)
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 Tbsp chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions
  1. Rinse and chop the cauliflower into florets and put into a food processor. (If you don't have a food processor continue to chop the cauliflower into tiny pieces.) Pulse until the cauliflower until it is small and resembles rice.
  2. Preheat a large skillet or wok to medium heat. Pour sesame oil in the bottom. Add white onion and peas and carrots and fry until tender.
  3. Slide the onion, peas and carrots to the side, and pour the beaten eggs onto the other side. Using a spatula, scramble the eggs. Once cooked, mix the eggs with the vegetable mix.
  4. Add the cauliflower to the veggie and egg mixture. Pour the soy sauce on top. Stir and fry the rice and veggie mixture until heated through and cauliflower is tender. Add chopped green onions if desired.
