Eli's Rock Star Nursery :)

It took me MONTHS to finally decide how I wanted to do Eli's room.  I looked everywhere for ideas and finally just started looking on etsy for bedding and that's when I decided on this theme :)  My sister and I painted the walls a light blue on 2 walls and a light gray on the other 2, which the combo turned out so great!  I actually need to update some of these pics so you can see the entire finished product now that we have a glider and rug down in there.

I found this cute ruler on!  You can find it here:
This bedding was custom made and I love love love it!!  I think finding bedding that I liked was the hardest part, we knew we wanted something skull print and do a rock star type nursery but we didn't want it to be scary either.  I think this fits the theme perfectly and it's perfect for a baby boy's room :)  You can check out the seller and all her wonderful items here:

It took me FOREVER to find something to put above Eli's crib and finding something that both Bo and I agreed on!  I found this and searched everywhere for the best price and finally found it on ebay!

My husband's cousin made us this adorable frame!  It now has a picture in it, I really need to update these pics lol :)
I love etsy!  That is where I found a lot of great stuff for Eli :)  Love this Boppy cover, check out the seller and all her wonderful custom made items here:
Eli loves the soft minky material on his blanket and I just love the overall look and quality of the bedding!  The crib has  held up well for us, even with my older 2 being silly and climbing in it lol.  I found the crib on, their prices were the most reasonable I could find but the shipping did take a really long time, I had to contact them a few times about it.  They did respond quickly, I think the crib was actually backordered and it just didn't state that on the website.  Here is the link to their site:

Another look at Eli's adorable bedding :)

My friend Samantha made this for us!!  I love it!  We have it hanging below the window right by the glider :)  I will post some newer pics soon I promise!

Fruit Crepes Yummm!

I stumbled upon these crepes in the produce section at my grocery store and I can't get enough of them!  They make a delicious breakfast or lunch!

The actual crepe is only 51 calories, the brand is called Melissa's.
The crepe with the fruit and whipped cream is less than 250 calories, makes for a healthy meal!

I sliced up one banana and a couple strawberries, then topped it with redi whip.  I've made these a couple of times and I've also put blueberries and blackberries in it.  I seriously can't get bored of these :)

Just some old photos

Inner Strength

"Courage is the discovery that you may not win, and trying when you know you can lose."-Tom Krause

There are times in life when finding your inner strength is harder than usual. That doesn't mean it isn't there. It is. You just have to take a minute to find it.

It is so easy to doubt yourself. But don't! If we don't believe in ourselves than who will?
Find little ways to help boost your confidence and thus building your strength from the inside out.
~Look in the mirror everyday and say out loud something you like about yourself. It may sound cheesy, but it really does help boost your confidence!
~Try yoga. It calms the nerves and improves flexibility.
~Exercise! Not only is it good for your body, but also your soul. Studies have shown that time and again. Even a short brisk walk boosts your mood.
~Write down a list of your strengths. Sometimes we don't realize how many we have until we see them written down.
~Stay positive. No matter how hard things seem to be at the moment, just think, "This too shall pass." Things always have to get worse before they get better!

Au Gratin Sausage Skillet

My hubby and kids love it when I fix this!  I found this recipe in the cook book Fast Fixes with Mixes.  You can find it on amazon, check it out!

1 lb fully cooked kielbasa or polish sausage, halved and sliced 1/2 inch thick
2 tbps vegetable oil
1 package au gratin potatoes
2 1/2 cups water
1 package (8 oz) frozen california mix veggies
1-2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1.  In a skillet, cook sausage in oil until lightly browned.  Drain.
2.  Add potatoes with contents of sauce mix and water.  Cover and cook over medium heat for 18-20 minutes or until the potatoes are almost tender, stirring occasionally.
3.  Add veggies, cover and cook for 8-10 minutes or until potatoes and veggies are tender.
4.  Sprinkle with cheese.  Remove from the heat; cover and let stand for 2 minutes until the cheese is melted.

YIELD: 4 servings

NOTE:  The milk and butter listed on the potato package are not used in this recipe.

Secrets to Happiness

Gossip Less. It's fun to catch up with a friend and tell eachother if someone's getting married or having a baby, but leave the negative comments out. Talk about yourselves and your family and life. That's what you should really be 'catching up' on... Eachother!

Treat Others the Way You Want to be Treated. Everyone knows, that is the Golden Rule!

Help People. Even holding the door open for someone. Recently, I helped a lady that was in a wheelchair at the grocery store simply by getting something off of a high shelf that she couldn't reach. Every act of kindness, no matter what the size, means something and makes a difference.

Love. This isn't only about a significant other... Love your pet. Your family. Friends. Your children. Whatever means the world to you, embrace it!

Enjoy the Small Stuff. Your morning cup of Joe. Warm bread. Rainbows. The rain. A sunny day. A good workout. Playing in the snow. Finding a ladybug. A phone call with a loved one. It's all the little things that make up most of our life, so enjoy them!

Laughter. It really is the best medicine!

Confidence. Believe in yourself! It's hard to be happy with life in general if you're not happy with yourself.

Learn Something New Everyday. Knowledge is Power, we all know that. ;)

Check Something Off of Your To-do List. Even if it's just getting your laundry done. Accomplishments are always a good way to boost the mood.

Smile. Sometimes even if you're not feeling like smiling, just that simple action helps :)

Provo Falls, UT

I took these photos in Provo Falls, UT.  Beautiful place, I love going through there in the summer.

A Smile
by author unknown

Smiling is infectious,
You catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner,
And someone saw my grin,
What he smiled I realized,
I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
The realized its worth,
A single smile, just like mine,
Could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
Don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick,
And get the world infected.

Believe In Love

Just feeling the love today!  So I thought I'd share a couple of my favorite loooooove quotes with you :)

I don't Love you because I need you.  I need you because I Love you.

Love conquers all.

I loved you yesterday, I love you still, always have and always will.

Love never fails.

We were given two hands to hold, two legs to walk, two eyes to see, two ears to listen, but why only one heart?  Because the other one was given to someone for us to find.

Love comes unexpectedly.

This is my tough dog.  Ok, so she's not really tough, she just looks it.  She's really a big wrinkly ball of cuddles.  She's such a sweet heart & photogenic!

LoVe... is a wonderful thing

"Love builds bridges where there are none."
-R. H. Delaney

"Absence is to love what wind is to fire; it extinguishes the small, it enkindles the great."
-Comte DeBussy-Rabutin

"Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get, it's what you are expected to give -- which is everything."

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength; loving someone deeply gives you courage."

"Where there is love there is life."
-Mahatma Gandhi

"If you judge people, you have no time to love them."
-Mother Theresa

A Special World

A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold
Gently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fast
Bonds like this are meant to last.

And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong.
